The other day, reading a gossip magazine I found a really interesting article. The article talked about a woman that became a man, found a partner and decided to have a baby. Well, my face changed to a complete  question mark when I read that the male, who once was a female and was not happy with his/her sexual body, decides to carry the baby!

Well, aside my personal opinion about it, I will like to discuss the fact of bringing such a personal issue to the press. Some people argue that the press went to the couple since the occasion was unique and odd; some argue that the couple went looking for the press to tell their story to the world. But i ask myself, did someone thought how this fact will affect the child when people come ask him ? Was it really necessary to make it public?

What seams pretty odd to me is the fact that this male who was a female before, on his/her sexual change process he/she decided to keep his/her feminine reproductive organs.

As I read in an interview made to the couple, the woman could not have kids anymore, and that is why the couple decided that he will be the baby carrier. But, did he knew when he kept his organs he will need them some day? And does he have to go to Oprah to talk about it? I really don’t know how much this couple had a “baby” desire or a “fame” desire.

Some times commercials make you wanna turn of the T.V, throw the remote control against the wall and swear you will never turn that stupid device on never again. Those moments are usually when you are completely hooked with a T.V Show or a movie and… when the man is going to kill the man… or the girl is going to kiss the guy… BOOM!!!! COMMERCIALS!!!! Isn´t like the most annoying thing on the planet??? And usually the commercials in between you favorite show are such a pain… Like the guy that wants to sell you a cleaning product, and all he does is scream…WHAT A HEADACHE! Or the guy that ¨WONT BE BEAT¨ selling mattress…Check it out…

I wonder myself, how come there are so many bad commercials when actually there are so many good commercials out there? So I guess is the budget that certain products have to advertise.

On the other hand, there are moments when I am watching T.V and I cannot wait for the commercials to come. For instance, the Superbowl commercials. I don´t care at all about the game but I can´t wait to see that commercials.

Many of the best adds ever made are banned, like many Ikea commercials. As you know Ikea is this giant Superstore. Most of Ikea commercials are extra funny, but some people may consider them offending so they are never showed on T.V. Lucky us, Youtube has them all. Still, we can still enjoy some great commercials on T.V such as this amusing one.

My ten year old cousin scared me the other day. She called from Spain like she does once in a while. After a while talking, she asked me what was the name of that super cool new song she heard on MTV. The song went something like this “When I grow up, I want to be famous, I wanna be a star, a wanna be in movies”. My heart went up side down. My little cousin has been filled with that crab already! I just felt there was nothing i could tell her to make her understand that she had no age to listen to that kind of music, “you don’t wanna be famous, you wanna be a successful doctor, and No, you don’t need groupies!” But it was to late, she just wanted to know the name of the song so she could download it and put it in her Ipod, so she and her friends could dance to it. I talked to my aunt about it and she told me that there was nothing she could do since all the other girls new about the song already, so she would end up knowing about it anyways, plus it was kind of cute!!! Cute!!!!!!!! I don’t see anything cute about it! My mom would not let me listen to Spice Girls because she thought it was not appropriated for my age… I don’t blame her. Well, also when I was ten I was playing with dolls… I was pretty innocent. Now dolls actually look like the Pussy Cat Dolls, and they come with all king of accessories so girls can put tons of make up on, do their nails, so they can look like super stars!

It is ironic, the way is happening through our eyes and still believe it is cute and I will never have a negative influence. Well, I have seen my other cousin, who is 14, making out with a boy, wearing make up, and half dressed (Or half naked)! I wear more clothes when I go to the beach, than when she goes out with her friends… But it’s cute!!! You know… And it does not matter when they turn on the T.V and they see the Pussy Cat Dolls telling them that they would do ANYTHING to be rich and famous. I seriously believe that innocence in little girls and boys has been corrupted by what the media is offering. I love media, media is a way of life, but what I will never agree with is the way that media is turning into a joke. Let the kids be innocent and grow ups be entertained and informed.

T oday I was watching one of the most addictive channels i have ever seen… E! Channel. I am a foreigner in the U.S and for the past two years I got to know who Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are and what they do to be famous; Britney Spears issues; Britney’s little sister issues; Lindsey Lohan…, her family, her neighbors, her dog… OMG! How i’ve been 22 years of my life without knowing who this people were, and still I had a happy life. Now, two years after, i get home and i turn on the T.V and there it is! E! Channel. I have the T.V on even if I am not watching it, but once in a while i get hooked to whatever is on. The best part of it is that i do not even care about what happens to Brit or if Lindsey’s sister is recording a music album! But still I watch it and i even make comments on what I see..

Have you people ever seen the commercials on E!? Now that is summer time, and it is a channel mostly target to women, all the ads are about loosing weight naturally, by eating the most disgusting meals and taking two thousand pills a day, or by spending all your savings getting a liposuction. But who does not want to look super fantastic this summer? Have you girls seen what is out there? Top ten bodies! If we are not a 10, don’t even bother to get in your bikini. My question is; are they ever going to promote healthy habits to get a ten body? Because what they never tell the audience is that those super sexy bodies from T.V are not the product of the latest diet pill. They usually come after hours of working out and eating a healthy diet.
